First week back after the school holidays means that there's a full round of junior sport on. That will be a test!
Today I covered Netball at the new courts at Glen Willow. The courts look great and it all seemed to be running well!
Pity there aren't paths that link the car park with the courts! With 'Keep off the Grass' signs everywhere it makes it tricky to get from the car park to the courts without walking all round the world! Who is going to walk 200 metres when the direct line is less than 10 metres! How about putting paths where people need to walk? Take out 1-2 metres of rose bed and let us walk through!
As for parking at the Glen Willow complex, it needs a serious look! It's as though the planners put the car park as far as possible from anywhere. What little space is closer has been barricaded off, or has had loads of dirt dumped on it.
Once I managed to park, Junior football was all good! The Under-6s are always terrific to photograph and I went back to get the U10-11s Virgo Cabling v Carpet Court.
Senior hockey was S&S Meats v Harvey World Travel. A close match!
I won't be putting up any results on this website. You'll have to go to The Mudgee Guardian on Monday to find those!
